“Escaping” to Black Hawk ( a gambling casino village nestled in the mountains west of Denver) seemed like just that – an escape from the To Do list of our business and from the collective consciousness of fear and constriction that is so predominant these days. The decision to ‘go play’ had been preceded by a whiny rant that ended with “I give up! I just give up! I am tired of DOING!!” So it was that we found ourselves driving through the mountain vistas enroute to our playground….fugitives on the lam sensing freedom with every mile traversed. It felt good to drive that meditative drive through some pretty spectacular country. I felt the smile emerge from the inside out as I took a deep breath of release.
That is how the day began ….. how it ended exceeded our wildest imaginings! Continue reading →

When I was flying, I learned a lot about being in control – always being one step ahead of the aircraft -anticipating what could go wrong and being prepared in advance to respond. I learned that it was a life and death issue especially when I was flying my beloved WWII Warbird – Harvard (AT6 is its U.S. name) in formation…attention, focus, familiarity with the cockpit so that my hands went to the controls without my physical eyes even looking. My inner eyes had it memorized and could ‘see’ all the controls. The whole experience of flying and especially formation flying seemed to always be this incredible balancing act between control, anticipating all possibilities and letting go in order to truly be ‘one’ with the aircraft. It required the ultimate self-trust, trust in the laws of physics, confidence in acquired knowledge and allowing the synergy to flow.
It was a dance of letting go and taking action – two seemingly opposite behaviors. The resolution of the two landed squarely in the heady experience of both the satisfaction with the action and the pure joy of the flight itself ….the afterglow lasts! even to this day – it becomes a cellular peak experience…that teaches in every project undertaken. Ironically, action and letting go can live in every moment of experience. They are not mutually exclusive. In fact, to be a free-flying being requires both. As we prepare to present our “Path to Choice – Finding Perspective in Global Transition” at the Families in Global Transition conference (Mar 4-7) in Houston, the learning of the past replays and the well-worn path to free-flying is walked once more…this time, with greater trust, confidence and access to past wisdom.
~ To dream anything that you want to dream. That’s the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed. ~

It is a basic law of physics in this reality that “energy in = energy out”. ‘Investing’ in anything by inputting energy (be it attention of any kind: focus, action, money, time, research, inquiry, study) is part of the schematic for successful execution of personal vision. Personal Vision is the vehicle that moves on the flow of our human and spiritual existence. When we are able to navigate physical life with ease and grace; when we are in a place of total trust in our own ability to create a next iteration of our life; when we freely choose our actions from the stillness and nothingness of being – then we have achieved facility with and are living our Personal Vision.
We recently attended a weekend training seminar in San Diego for a process called Matrix Energetics. It was a transformative approach to healing that felt very much aligned with our Emergent Coach business that is all about illuminating limitless possibilities often obscured from view. Between the excitement of having discovered another tool to expand our skills and engaging our imaginations in the myriad of ways this could change everything for us, were ‘thought landmines’ that cast doubt on our joyful focus: “Should we go? It is soooo expensive and the economy is so bad. Maybe we should conserve and just read the book. You never know when that money might be needed!” Continue reading →
